It is so easy, sometimes to sit back and speak of what “they” have done. To criticize and second guess the way things are happening. It is easy to relinquish our part in things, to say “well it wasn’t meant to be.”

It is easy in the short term, but it is a path of our soul’s undoing. As Jesse Winchester said: “It takes patience to walk and spirit to run, it doesn’t take any thing to pity yourself, its just dangerous fun.”

If we believe that the natural and vibrant state of the Earth has healing power for us, we need to reach out for it. As keepers of the vision, it is for us to make this reaching a real and consistent thing in our lives. It is important to remember that our ceremonial practice helps keep alive humanity’s connection to the power of the Earth. Our practice literally radiates healing out to the entire world. It is out of the practice that all other possibilities flow naturally and without effort. Who are we to talk about the spiritual power of the Earth, if we have not made it a real and consistent thing in our lives?
